SLAVE AURRA CREW – CONVERSATION/WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME

$2.00$15.00

Disc One: Conversation / Instrumental 45rpm

Disc Two: What Can You Do For Me / Instrumental 45rpm

Steve “The Fearless Leader” Washington & Sheila “The Bride” Horne team up with members of P-Funk to form the Slave Aurra Crew featuring Lige Curry & DeWayne Blackbyrd McKnight.

In 1986 with New Jack Swing only a few years away Steve & Sheila bridged the gap between Funk/R&B and Pop with the obscure Detroit-made Are You Available 12″. Three additional previously unreleased songs and instrumentals were recorded during these sessions during the recording of George Clinton’s 1985 Some Of My Best Jokes Are Friends LP.

AURRA X DĀM-FUNK – SOMEBODY (RE-FREAK)

$12.00$50.00

‘Somebody’ is the single from the Aurra album ‘Body Rock’. Body Rock is the second and final unearthing of the lost but found Master Tapes for the Aurra album originally recorded for Quincy Jones’ Qwest imprint in 1984.
Once again the world gets to experience a lost disco-funk masterpiece providing another glimpse into the Genius mind of Slave founding-member Steve Washington & Brides Of Funkenstein / P-Funk singer Sheila Horne Brody.

The 24-track master tapes were transferred digitally and then mixed on an SSL board by Kamal Humphrey at his all-analog Flying Carpet Studios in Los Angeles. The result is a full sound enhanced by the natural analog process using today’s digital technology only when needed to clean up the files. DāM-FunK adds a bit of dirt and grime by putting his signature Re-Freak on the track.
